In Her Shoes
*Chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick flliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick* If you have any doubts..it’s a movie about 2 sisters, shoes and a long-lost grandmother. Connie and I went to go see it over the weekend and I, of course, only knew that it was the movie with Cameron Diaz. But then again when you have no expectations about a film, it really can’t disappoint you.
A week or two ago, Steve and Connie were talking about going to see a movie. Connie confessed she didn’t know of anything…except this one movie that she knew Steve wouldn’t go see. He asked which, she refused to tell. Finally she told him it was In Your Shoes and he agreed that he would not be going to see that one.
During one of the many scenes that tears were rolling down my cheeks, I looked over at Connie who was also wiping her eyes. I chuckled as a I leaned over asked her to imagine Steve watching this movie with the two of us…crying.
Maybe it’s the lack of expectation, but regardless it was a surprisingly good movie with some great retirement community humor. It had a good mix of emotion and comedy and of course Cameron Diaz’s physical comedy. In true grandparent form, all the seniors help meddle in the business of the sisters for a happy ending. I’m sure I could never convince any of my guy friends to watch it but it’s still a Netflix rating of 3 stars.
