A sight unparralled
It’s 2AM on a “school night” and I just got home. I’m still on the natural high…however, some may argue that’s just me thawing out from standing outside since 11:45. What for?, you ask. It was for the elephants. Elephants?, you ask. Weeellll, you see the Ringling circus is in town and every year they walk the elephants from Queens through the midtown tunnel across 34th Street to 7th Avenue and inside to Madison Square Garden. We waited at the overpass of the Midtown tunnel, saw them make their entrance and ran to 34th Street to greet them. Then we ran down across town…until they disappeared.
Heh! What a New York experience! Running down 34th Street with elephants, zebras, horses and PETA protestors. Oh and talk about efficiency…bringing up the rear was a street cleaning car!
