Whistler Day 4
I’m pretty convinced that I’m not going out on the board today. Oh and on top of it all, I have a nice big bruise on my knee. You know, right where you lean on to get up off the board toeside! I figure I make it a work day and stay low.
The guys are moving a little slower today - they don’t hit the slopes till noon. They do convince me to ride up the summit(6,069ft) with them in the Whistler gondola and then download back down the gondola. The view was spectacular!
As the guys went off to the Peak Chair, I snapped a succession of them boarding off. They are the cluster of three throughout the video.
I spent the rest of the day taking more photos and walking around the village. I did get myself impact shorts. They look like board shorts but have hip and but pads! I also re-scheduled my lesson for Saturday - there’s forecast of snow this weekend. Maybe the slopes will be better by then. I’ll probably go up with the guys for half a day tomorrow and see how the impact shorts fare. Wish me luck!
I met up with the guys at 4PM after their run and we dined at Dubh Lin Gate. I had the Irish Stew which was lamb, potatoes and veggie stew. It was quite good but since I didn’t exert myself today I wasn’t too hungry. We head back to the condo with thoughts of hot tub runnning through our heads. After getting caught up with things, we finally decide to take a dip at 7. To our chagrin, the newly changed water was still at a chilly 55 degrees and nowhere near the 104 degress it had been in the past.

We had planned to go catch Smoking Aces at the Whistler Village Cinema but the 20 degrees weather outside deterred us enough to stay home and call it a night.
