Whistler Day 6
It’s Steve’s last day on the mountain and I’m psyched to go up with the guys. However, when I get up in the morning, I’m not feeling well. I figure in a couple of hours, two tylenols later, I should be good to go. Guac and Metzer beat us out the door so Double E, as Brian calls him, and I leave a little later with the a walkie to meet up with them. Brian’s left butt is so visibly swollen so he decides to take the day off. Last night, as a parting gift, Steve bought Brian impact shorts. Once he’s recovered, I’m sure it’ll come in handy.
I go up the Whistler gondola with Elad and while I’m not feeling great…can’t wait to get to the top. As the gondola climbs, I’m not getting any better and actually the cold is making my tummy feel worse. By the time we get to the summit, I decide that I can’t board like this. So I download back down to the base and get my lift ticket re-issued for tomorrow. I go home and take more Tylenol and fall asleep. Brian is no where to be found - I figure that he left when the maid showed up.
Steve shows up first since his knee and ankle is still bothering him. Metzer and Elad show up an hour later around 3. After hot tubbing and some naps, we decide to watch ‘The Warriors’. Elizabeth, if you’re reading, great choice! “Warriors, come out to plaaaayyyy!
We head out for some food. It’s almost a full moon (tomorrow night) and the walk is gorgeous and I take more photos. Check out the last picture below…don’t Steve and Brian make a cute couple?? Awwww. =D

We head over to Earl’s but it has a 90 minute wait. So we try The Old Spaghetti Factory which has a 30 minute wait and a bar next door. We head over order a pitcher and honey wings. They were quite good…finger licking good in fact. The Old Spaghetti Factory is a decent Northwest chain for your basic Italian fare. As we walk out, debating what to do and where to go for Guacamole’s last night, a promoter for Tommy Africa’s stamps us and tells us it’s free cover until midnight. We head over, it’s pretty empty but the DJ is good. We order up shots from Ryan, the bartender, and he gives us Polar Bears. It’s got creme de cacoa, peppermint schnapps, and a splash of vodka and it was quite yummy! Some more drinking and some dancing later, we head home. Since the drinking age is 19 in British Columbia, the club scene is VERY VERY young.
At home, we pop in ‘Time Bandits’, another good Elizabeth suggestion. We don’t make it through the movie before we’re all falling asleep. Another day in Whislter has passed…
