Whistler Day 7 Update
It’s snowing! IT’S snowing! IT’S SNOWING! Just in time for my lesson, woohoo!!

So it snowed a nice layer by the time I got to class. We did a practice run down Magic Chair which was okay but I hit my head catching an edge. It was hard enough for my classmate hear it go *THUNK* 50 feet behind me. I shake it off and finish the run and we go Wizard Express. Once I got up the mountain on the Wizard Express, my legs froze. So I slipped, stopped down the mountain and finally got comfortable with speed. About two-thirds down, I started doing turns and linking them. It took most of the hour to do the single run and I was beat! My left jaw is really sore from hitting my head and my butt hurts again but this time I had impact shorts on so it’s not as bad. HOT TUB time!
Metzer and Elad meet meet me at the base and we head home. Matt and Rob are already at the condo settling in. Mike and Bettina arrive late tonight. It’ll be a full house and I’m over at the Summit Lodge since I was the last to sign up for the condo this week. Brian decides to cook dinner tonight. He, Matt and Rob make a grocery run and come back cheese and crackers, meat skewers for the grill, potatoes and salad fixin’s.
Brian starts up the gas for the grill and tries to figure out how to light the coals with a lighter. As he tries from 5 feet off the grill, Matt advises he close the patio door for our protection. And our protection it was! Brian can’t light it at 5 feet so he gets closer and closer…and POOF! a nice billow of orange kick starts the grill. He’s probably singed his right arm hairs. He comes back inside to man the potatoes - boil then pan-fry with butter, garlic and peppers. Metzer mans the grill and Rob is on salad. Dinner looks great.
But halfway through Matt starts laughing and pointing in Brian’s general direction…see what he saw.
So not only did he singe his arm hairs, he singed his head hairs. A+ for effort.
